Reverb tank?

Post by Dannymec »

I have a Fender Deluxe 112 amp which has a reverb tank. It doesn't really seem to work though. I had it working one day when I took it out of the cabinet, but after installing it again, it failed. The knob only adds unwanted noise.

Now is there a way to use it as a stand alone tank? It has RCA input and output. Maybe I can change those to 1/4 inch jacks?

Has anyone ever tried this?

The RCA sockets are straight to the drive and pickup coils. It needs a driver and a receiver to be used with anything else. You can use a quad op-amp, parallelling the outputs of 3 for the driver and using the 4th as the receiver. I'm a bit busy at the moment but you should be able to find a schematic online.

[edit] Assuming it's not the tank that's failed...
