The gibson pups aren't bad, but i'm more of a metal/shred/lead guy and i need some more ouput and treble. I was thinking about going with emg's, but i think the duncans with have more versatile tones. I think the jb sounds really good in a les paul.SGJarrod wrote:I am a huge fan of a chrome neck pu cover and a bare bridge pu, I did this exact same thing on my SG but went with a Zebra in the bridge......
I am suprised u swapped the pick ups... I love the 490/498 combo... just as much as I love the BurstBucker Pro's
What did u not like about the 490/498 combo?
I can see that,....... the Duncan's are the better choice in my book too.... I would have prayed something bad happened to u if u put EMGz in that BeautJJLipton wrote:The gibson pups aren't bad, but i'm more of a metal/shred/lead guy and i need some more ouput and treble. I have the 490/498 combo in my Les Paul Studio. I like them for recording, hate them for band levels. They're too gainy for me, you need an amp with a ton of headroom to play clean.JJLipton wrote:The gibson pups aren't bad, but i'm more of a metal/shred/lead guy and i need some more ouput and treble.
