65 Reissue Mustang Question

Post by askani777 »

I am a vary happy owner of a much modded Jag-Stang and about to get my second short scale, in about a week. Its a 65 reissue Mustang CIJ, made in either 05 or 06. My question is, does anyone know if all 65 reissues CIJ's were poplar? I know the current ones are but is there any way to know for sure about the CIJ's?

thanks

I believe they are all poplar according to Fender's website.

They're poplar and they're some of the best guitars I've ever played.

Eww, three pickup Mustang.

Don't get Novaks right away. You might really like how it sounds stock. I never had a problem with the sound myself, I thought it was very pretty.

Don't have them, but I've heard the `65 RI pups are lovely...

Yeah, considering how I mod everything, it took me years to mod a '65 RI. I only did it when I moved into a house with bad wiring and couldn't handle the noise anymore.

i do love lee. i have a wide range in my jagstang and it is the best pu i have ever heard. i dont like stock pus much, but i will surely give these a shot. as for 3 pickups i might put the wide range in the bridge but i think ill like the singles too much. this way i would have the classic mustang plus my fav pickup. it might look weird but ill put a pretty shiny pickguard on it to balance things out.
