Can't believe they put a strat jack socket on it... Squier com'on.

They play great don't they !! And you picked my favourite colourway, I wouldn't change it... a little wear and it'll look great.

I've been quite tempted by one of these myself, the few times I have tried them I've been unsure of the p/ups... but could just be me. I don't usually get on with strats despite adoring the sound they make.

Yeah, such a well put together guitar. It's like it wants to be played.

I actually like the pickups a lot. Very strat-ee. I considered swapping the bridge one out before I even got it as I've heard people usually get pickups around 5.8k which is too low for me, but at 6.2k there's no need (I lucked out I think)

These are definitely one of the best looking of the CV series. Almost enough to make me buy a strat.

If you do decide you want a brass block for this I've a brand new one I'd be willing to part with for the GFS price.

Is it a straight drop in? I've had problems matching them up with bridge plates before.

Thanks for the offer though, if it fits I might take you up on it to be honest but I'll see how I get on as it is first. Did you not like it or something?

Yep it's a perfect fit. GFS sell them specifically for import strats.

I've got one in my blue CV strat, but had a spare for a project I decided against completing.

This is a great upgrade if you have the small block. I put the steel one in my strat and it was noticeably better.

Very nice indeed. Plus, the closed hole at the bottom of the trem block means you can use the clever drop-in-spring-thing to keep the trem arm in place. Do it.

I kind of wish I'd bought the white one now. It looks really nice. Would have added a mint pickguard though.

Aw well, it's not a guitar I gig with anyway, and most the guitars round the flat are 'safe' colours like black and bursts.

That was my plan too. Never got round to picking one up, though. Can't complain really, I've survived without it.

I'm still getting used to the blingness and wrestling between getting a mint or parchament guard for it. Playing live with such an ostentatious guitar could make me nervous. Luckily I'm a shit hot guitarist though so people will immediately shut the fuck up after I've dropped some Malmsteen.

very nice review george and those are 2 lovely looking guitars. this is on my list of maybe's and I've loved playing them when I've done it. Amazing score mate, very jealous and I love the colour scheme/pickguard.

Neither, the anodised gold pickguard looks brilliant.

Offsetguitars would be very upset if you changed the VINTAGE CORRECT LOL guard. Maybe you should just add an amber switch tip.

This, I love the gold guard, its very Nile Rodgers which is what I love about strats.

I like the gold - will only get better as it gets a bit worn.
