gav's bass sounds a mile out on that second video of us, but he's adamant he was in tune.

Have you guys looked into gig swaps? this is another idea we were looking at, as the band putting on a gig in their hometown has an incentive to put on a really good night with loads of folk as it's likely they'll receive the same treatment when they head up north/down south/whatever. (as the other band will be more inclined to return the favour)

that's the intention with us and waiting for winter, it's our turn to get a gig for them up here since they gave us a really good show to play at down their end. i'm nmore than happy to organise it with more bands, we're trying to build up a wee network where things like that can happen.

That's exactly what happened with our Birmingham show, Black Heart Generator are playing with us in Edinburgh on Saturday.

Except there were less people there than the London show :( it only works if everyone pulls their weight

It sounds way out in both videos to me. I dunno. My tuner doesn't usually lie and other people complained about similar weird sounds, but I've never had that before and it does seem weird and unlikely that it was the room.

Financially, the gig was a complete write-off. I think Dan made a loss of somewhere in the region of £150. Only 34 paid something to get in (including discounted tickets) and the rest were actually from the bands or on the Alcopop guestlist.
Getting people along to gigs in London (especially people you don't directly know) can be very difficult. Especially if bands come from miles away and don't know many people in London. There is just so much happening in London that people are spoilt for choice. I imagine it's much easier to pull a crowd in a town/city with only a handful (or less) of venues to attract punters.

Hey! Finally back at the computer- been in the Lake District getting sunburnt.

Thanks really very much for uploading those pics and vids Gavin, Stewart and Al. Was really nice to catch-up with everyone. I feel I chatted the most shit to Gavin, having got totally smashed on the booze at the Garage, so commiserations to him, but he's a good listener :)

I would have brought my proper camera if I'd not broken it a few weeks ago. As it is, I only have these strange artifacts from the Northampton gig:

Oh, we checked on the day- it wasn't the Undertones, it was just some guys. No Feargal Fuckin Sharkey, no Undertones.

I'm an record industry bitch.
