Sound Question on Short Scale Guitars!

Post by mickeyjag »

Hi!

I want to buy a Fender Mustang Pawn Shop... with 24" short scale
http://www.fender.com/de-DE/products/pa ... No=0266400
In the last to years i have played a normal Fender Stratocaster with 25,5" scale, and i am wondering how the sound will change with a 24" scale? What are your experiences? Is it true that you get a little bit more sustain but loose a lot of "attack" when you use a 24"scale guitar? If i put a higher gauge on the smaller scale, can i compensate this? I mostly play Rock, sometimes little heavier... (im going to change the pickups anyway)

thanks!!

(hope my english is okey!)

There's a long and recent thread debating this. Scroll down the short scales forum to find 'Tone of 24" scale vs. 24 3/4 vs. 25 1/2 ?'
Shabba.
