Originally, this was a hulk picked up on eBay for cheap (for a Rick, anyway). It was Fireglo originally. When I got it it didn't have a fretboard, so that was my starting point. The Fireglo finish was already stripped and painted black with a brush, so this was completely removed down to bare maple. Hardware would have been chrome originally; pickguard would have been white. I made the fretboard from some flamed Bubinga that I have.
The hardware came from my parts bin; I have quite a bit of black powder-coated Rick hardware. The bass shown was originally white with black hardware.
In the past year, I've completed four older Rick solidbodies for my own collection, and I've got two more to finish. The other ones completed were a '65 450/12 and a '61 425, both in Fireglo, and the '56 Combo 400 in Cloverfield Green, which I posted awhile ago in the thread "Non-Fender Shortscales".
Remaining to assemble when time permits: A '61 Combo 1000 in Fireglo, and the '67 450S in Azureglo Blue with white guard and chrome trim.
