Jag / Stang / Jazz Bridge covers

Post by othomas2 »

Anyone use one of these ?

Are they practical for modern day playing ? i.e palm muting for example.

cheers

I don't do a lot of chugga-chugga-chugga, but was surprised how much mine got in the way when I had it on. That said, I tend to play with my hand resting on the bridge, so it was very comfy for that. And as Stewart has pointed it, they look lovely.

Ok great, I just ordered one.... I guess that'll be the best way to tell. :D

If I don't get on with it, no great loss.

I only put my covers on for photo's. They are useless, but look really cool.

doesn't seem to get in my way, i find it nice to have something to rest your hand on while doing picking parts. I remember palm muting on my old Tele with an ashtray cover on it somehow so how hard can it be?

I might dig mine out of the case and give it a whirl.

Not good for muting though.

I wish they made similar covers for tunomatic bridges. Never seen one.

Except for this, though it isn't clear exactly how it would mount to the guitar: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-string-Tune-o-m ... 1e592e31a4

And it looks pretty ugly.

They're pointless fetishes of fascination. I agree that they can feel quite nice, though.

I know there are slight differences between Japanese and USA bridges... do the USA covers fit Japanese bridges properly? Darren Riley has a cover for USA Jag bridges, but not one mentioned for Japanese. Hoping that if I order it, it will work with my CIJ.

Still waiting for mine... was meant to be sent Royal Recorded First Class. And that takes 2 weeks and counting ??? :?

Pretty pissed off actually.... don't buy from Guitar Parts Worldwide !!!

On a separate note, just received my avri jag pickups through Darren Riley... can't recommend him enough !!!

Gonna go warn in buyer / seller thread.

Yeah, just doing pricing, I'm pretty pleased with him.. 2 AVRI pickups, F neck plate and Jag bridge cover come to $120 with shipping in to Canada. That's not bad at all.
