I'm looking for a power supply to power my pedals. This is a bit of a grey area among guitarists and a lot of my guitarist pals don't know much about them
I'm looking to buy one and I've been looking at this;
Different makes and models of power supply seem to differ in price pretty wildly, can someone tell me why and which adapter they would recommend? bearing in mind i'm pretty skint!
Also a few people also like similar power bricks to the one you linked to by (I think) Harley Benton. I've never tried these so can't comment but I do think the JSF one is brilliant

Power supplies that don't have isolated outputs are just a daisy chain in a box. A One Spot is usually a lot cheaper. Sharing a common supply can lead to humming issues. Many people use them and they are fine but many people do get humming.
Power supplies with isolated outputs separate each supply output and this generally solves the any humming.
I've got a Godlyke power supply, a Dunlop Brick, and a Pedal Power 2. I get a little hum with the Godlyke and Brick. Not so much that it bugs me but noticeable. The PP2 is dead quiet though.
Have used both the Diago and JSF around the world with nae probs aside from the lil' cable (where you connect up the daisychain) on the Diago getting intermittent and requiring resoldering & strengthening.
Has powered everything fine bar the Electro Harmonix Stereo Memory Man which cause some faint "whining" in the background when powered in a daisychain.

Hated my One Spot: unreliable and noisy with my kit - the JSF one is quiet as a mouse in exactly the same rig.
That's right, I said 'rig'.
I'm not saying that all daisy chains are the same. Some probably have really decent power filtering and work fine. I just wanted to point out that isolated outputs are generally better and quieter.
Sure; the point I was making was that, and I have no grasp of science to back this up with mind, my JSF supply is infinitely better than my OneSPot and the daisy chains I had before that. I was raising my eyebrow that it is effectively a Daisychain in a box.
I got a 1spot and had issues with background noise, especially with EHX pedals. I got the JSF one and no more noise. Amazingly cheap as well. I now use the 1spot just to power my TB Ge, I do have a seperate power supply for the SMMwH though.

I can also vouch for the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 I have under my Pedaltrain. Definitely cheaper options out there, but if you can find a used one it's great.
