Another not so NGD Hagstrom Viking I 1968

Post by kapepepper »

Hi guys
Picked this one up a bit ago, so that my coronado does not feel lonely :)
Its a 1968 Hagstrom Viking I, made in Sweden off course

All original, but has been played a lot by the previous owner and then has sat in its case for more then 15 years ago when th previous coildnt play anymore for some reason.

an then off course the comparison with my coronado:

I have a string feeling that if you would take the best of both instruments and put them together you would have one of the best guitars ever :)

Neck would be fender. The hagstrom has a very thin, fast neck. I like them more chunckier
body would be hagstrom. The body is a bit heaver, has some posts under the bridge. The hagstrom is more balanced guitar
PU hagstrom. They sound fuller, more power

cheers!!

Lovely guitars! I think the Hagstrom is prettier, but then I'm a bit biased.

Mine is slightly earlier than yours. It originally had the metal-based bridge, and the f-holes are a more traditional, less sexy shape.

OOh nice. I always liked those, but I never noticed the coronado comparison before. Now I like them even more!

And they are also in the same price range of the coronado, at least the vintage ones....a bit more difficult to find then the coronados
