Found a bronco bass in my cousin's garage. He is a modder, and he didn't want it anymore because of the crap paint job he put on. so I got it. Plays just fine, just an eyesore. Ideas? Here's a pic.
And another of the godawful paint job

Those colours work pretty well, paint it the same colour, but do a better job.

Then it sounds like things have changed to "Strip it, smooth the wood, repaint it"
I also agree that the current colour scheme is pretty nice. Haze's suggestion is good too

That color does look great. I'd strip it, use some wood filler, sand it level and spray it again.

Black pickup and knobs.
A good pickup and it'll become one of your favorite instruments. I guarantee it. Otherwise I'll buy it from you.

Wow, I love the white! Repaint it and put in a lace sensor red. That'll be killer.

Are you sure that the marks you see in the paint are to the wood? When I stripped my Bronco bass the poly was so thick on it I thought it was crazy. I stripped it with a heat gun and a scraper. Just have to be careful that you dont scrape up the wood.
No.
