Ah, we're on page 2 now... I can reply without having to wait for the whole damn thread to load.
Yeah, when I initially posted, for some reason I thought I was in the Other Guitars forum, not the Projects forum. My bad.
The other points about using spoiler tags and putting all the neck projects into a single thread are still good ones. Remember all the hooplah in your other thread about posting style? Why not heed some of the advice offered there (and here)? Seems like things would go more smoothly for you.
Based entirely on the posting style, horizontal scrolling and the immense load time I actually didn't see exactly what you did to this neck... and I probably never will, because it was painful to try to do so.
Chances are you can get your project across pretty reasonably with fewer, smaller resolution images, each posted to a new line... I'd like to see how this neck turned out, but I'm not going to fight with the thread to do so. It's not worth my time to wait for the whole thing to load, then scroll around all weird.
Hope it turned out well; I assume it did, the other neck did.

Makes necks and guitars greAt, but. Resize not great, idk, I use my brother stupid slr or something camera but whenever I try to upload it sAys it's to big of a file and when I screen shot it I can make atleAst 4 photos into one and it will allow me to upload it aswell, I barely have time to even do this uploading so for me it's faster to upload 1 shot instead of four, I mainly take pics to document my work and build a portfolio, I post some of them here to share what i love to do, also I have asked on a few occasions how to make the photos hidden to accomadate people with slower computers, idk. I have a MacBook and the pages of my pics load in seconds, truthfully I never really used a PC and those must be the ones loAding slow, also I wanted to mention but I don't think anyoneone would care, but I made and am still making this jazzmaster neck and future ones with RadiAl nerve palsy, paralyzed right hand /rist and a sprained thumb on my left hand, I can post pics of the ER paper work, it's painful and just set up physical therapy to learn how to use my right hand again, I fell asleep at my desk when I was doing the training of inlays foe this neck and the arm of the chair cut the circulation off from my forarm to hand and woke up 6 hours later and couldn't lift my hand up, it was the scariest thing in the worl, its been two weeks now and slowly I am getting more grip bit can't move the hand in gen., for example of my grip, I tried playing my guitar and can't even keep the pick in my hand, can't squeeze that hard, so. Point being I am just so happy I am still able to do this work, it's taking twice as long but coming out perfect like my other project, they say the hand should come back after months of theropy, it's just weird to learn to do everyday things with a hand like this nevermind profession
Perfect work on the projects I do still, I figure it out always somehow, I just pray it ces back so I can playy guitar again
I put so much work into, it's just crazy I can build it but not play it, oh well, I get so much sAtisfaction from my work results, I look at it and can't believe I made these things and now will always make them, it's like my job and pleasure the same time

Scary. You're in good company; Status Quo had to cancel part of a tour after Rick Parfitt trapped a nervepaulk1 wrote: I wanted to mention but I don't think anyoneone would care, but I made and am still making this jazzmaster neck and future ones with RadiAl nerve palsy, paralyzed right hand /rist and a sprained thumb on my left hand, I can post pics of the ER paper work, it's painful and just set up physical therapy to learn how to use my right hand again,

apparently caused by sleeping in an awkward position in a hotel room in Braunschweig, Germany.
Parfitt woke up to find he was unable to move his left wrist. He was examined by a German neurologist who explained that the injury was a fairly common condition for which there was no treatment other than rest. The nerve, which had become crushed, will resume working normally within a matter of days or, at worst, weeks. The injury is said to be unrelated to the elbow problem in the same arm last November.

Nice work Paulk1!
But i've a feeling you've gone about presenting your skills in the wrong way, with the wrong attitude, and people are flaming you for it..
Shame, because it looks like a pro job...
Try a spell checker before you post your stuff, and scrutinise what you put before you put it...dont be a bull-at-a-gate
My two-penneth...
Hope the wrist gets better by the way......

i finished the jazzmasterr neck, B&B and used image shak
i finished this neck i used image sheck to try to please everyone here, i usually didnt have time, i was working and have problems currently with my right hand and dont feel like doing any extra work witht the computer, but here is the neck, finished and i actually am falling in love with it, bcause it would work for my guitar even thought my neck says JAGAUr, its jazzmaster scale, but liked the jag decal at the tim beter, but now, i am likeing this jazzmaster decal, it looks more vintage with the texturized FENDER in a greenish color, and my jag decal is in a reflective gold color, but my neck is from warmoth and my first ever so i wil just keep my neck on and sell this new neck i just finihed to try to start some sort of side buisness, its funn for me and to enjoy your job even if it doesnt pay much, but i enjoy ,/love it, is my goal in life, i was a carpenter and buisness got slow this winter and havent gotten called back yet, so im livin off of the last few years of money made from carpentry, trim work, i just love this neck thought and cant wait to make more, i just have to buy a jazzmaster jaguar body to use for testing out the necks when i fret them and all, because taking apart my guitar once gave me trouble and and i dont want to do it again, but leveling the frets and radius corrections make it pretty doable, this neck was on my guitar and worked fine, but once i put my fender WARMOTH neck back on, i had to mess with the truss rod for a while to get it back to normal again and i dont want to do that again, so i will be investing in a jzzjag body soon, anyone hears anything, let me know![Image](http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/4313/dscn2039gm.jpg)

Hmm, that one not turn out as well as your previous headstocks, or is it just the window reflection?
Not being a dick, just critiquing (hopefully helpfully)... but, is the poly too thick, perhaps? It could just be the photo, but it looks like it's pretty thick, and that may be why it's looking wavy instead of a smooth gloss? It almost looks molten! (I recognize that the focus is on the background, which could be throwing off the perception somewhat).
I still love that Jazz/Jag hybrid. I'd love to hear a sample from it.

nahhh
thanks for that, but one thing ois that the guy i used to get my decals from doesnt sell them anymore so the logo is not as dark and two, i used two cans on ll my other necks and jaut one can on this one, but thats is because it didnt need it, i new these shots werent the best, it is 100 percwncnt better in person, and didint wanna post those shots, but was so exited to finish, that i had to, but that is still pretty good for someone with my right hand half paralized, "radial nerve aplsey", im gettin back more movement as the days go by but that doesnt evenreally have much to do with the sheen of the headstock, to sum it up, its just the shots, i definetly wish you guys saw my stuff in person, i always think that, i wisk then can hear or see my stuff in person, but that the internet,Ankhanu wrote:Hmm, that one not turn out as well as your previous headstocks, or is it just the window reflection?

by the way, thanks for being honest, i think ill selll it for like atleast 200
my ebay shots, will be sceen shots put together
my ebay shots will be put together like this because they charge for pics after i think the first 2, or something,
here are some of my pics, but im thinking of buying tuners first and installing them on the neck before i sell it, i would buy a pair from ebay or angelas instuments, the ones jazzmasters come with, tuners like these![Image](http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/8175/screenshot20110530at747.png)

anyway, i know someone said the screen shot thing is stupid, but whatever , i just do things that work for me, i would of had to uploaded four pictures instead of the one with 4 pics in it, plus it saves room on the forum page, people complain about the screen loading to long as it is, so this makes more sense to me, but if anyone can give me the advice about buying the tuners and installing them for the buyer of the neck i would appreciate it, because what if someone wants the neck but than says , nahhhh, i wouldnt know what to do about installing the tuners or somthing, plus, this big ebay store i usually check out pretty often and bought the neck from, usually sell the neck with the tuners, i dont know
oh yeah, this is gonna be my main picture on ebay,![Image](http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/1902/dscn2156.jpg)
Uploaded with ImageShack.us you know its funny, i actually want to keep this so bad, i almost feel bad selling it, but the whole point of buying it was to see if i can make it into what most jazzmaster fans want, and i wanted to be the one to make it for them, besides, i dont even have the body for it, and spent over 14 hundred on my guitar in the last year keeping it would just be more of a loss in the financial part in my life, im actually not working right now so its just not realistic, its kinda also something im trying to start, a little side jo type thing anyway, nd this is the second neck im selling, wired a bass, painted a tele, but love the world od music....money isnt everything, being happy doing what i do is what i believe in

You should have a compressor since you do trim work... get a mini hvlp spray gun & a water trap from Grizzly.com for $20. Spray your own finishes with a rig, you'll save money over the long term by buying by the gallon, since of rattle can. Switch to nitrocellulose lacquer, people will take your work more serious. Just so you can be like "it's nitro, just like Leo did it".
Are you wet sanding & buffing your finishes?
Are you wet sanding & buffing your finishes?
Well, "Fender" uses polyurethane on the necks anyway, nitro on the bodies, at least on the guitars like jazz, jag, mustangs , basically the offsets, I'm not sure about strat necks but I would guess they. Are polyurethane aswell,Joey wrote:You should have a compressor since you do trim work... get a mini hvlp spray gun & a water trap from Grizzly.com for $20. As far as the wet sand and buffing thing, I do both, you kinda have to, I will upload wet sand photos of these necks of mine later I'm on my iPad and don't have those shots on here , there on my MacBook, but you have to wet sand after about five coats with 600 wet sand (grit), than after the next two coats I move up to 800 or 1000 grit wet sand than another five coats and wet sand at 2000 grit, I don't wet sand in circular motion because it will be noticeable, I just sand straight up and down and than after all the little shinney spots are gone, than you are ready to buff with turtle wax scratch and swirl remover, but the same thing with the turtle wax, I first start to circular buff than straight, and it won't look like a car in the sunlight, circular and crappy, than, I use a TRilicone car paste just for shine, without any abrasives, otherwise you will remove to much poly or laquer and go into the paint, sometimes even into the wood, trust me, I've been through it all, Trial and error" ,that's the way I learned, but got all the ideas from the Internet , mostly YouTube , I'll take some shots of all the stuff I use later, you actually have to buy the wet sand paper in auto body shops or actually Walmart caries the wet sand high grits like 800 to 2000 in the auto section, but, I'm not sure how Leo Fender did it back then with necks, I do a lot of research on this stuff recently but haven't got to that, like for example, the neck stamp codes, 15 may 69 C. 15 stands for bound and blocked "1" is dotted, may is the month, 69 year, and the A B C or rarely D stands for the width of the string nut,
Anyway, I have to look into those spray guns but to be honest with you, the way I do it is pretty good for me, my neck, bound, blocked, Warmoth, wanted 8 weeks and 100 for the bindings and 90 for the blocks, and the neck would've been unfinished in 8 weeks, and I completely finished my neck from them, in 2 weeks, I ordered it without frets and they just sent them along with the neck, but come on, 8 weeks, they have a Crew of employees, machines, they pump out hundreds of necks a week supposedly they say and 8 weeks, you can call the number on there site and ask them, these are quotes from them, plus they wanted 360 for my neck, B and B only.... I paid 170 from them unfretted and banged it out in two weeks and the guys at Guitar center ,when I was case shopping, brought my guitar, they thought it was one of those "made in Japan" jaguar necks attached to a jazzmaster and modified , when I told then I made it, they didn't beleive me until I showed them all the photos on my iPhone, anyway
Definitely buff
