1966 Jag which went through a refinish at some point. Mixture of new and original hardware (Tuners and tail piece are 100% original. Back of headstock shows its had some repairs. Looks like it used to have more strings?!

Got it from a Czec dude on eBay last year for £800 including the shipping from there. Not a bad deal huh? It's my dream guitar and it plays like a dream too.

them's nice price. your guitar totally rang a bell in my mind, and i remember the ebay auction too... that downer guy used to post here a couple of years ago, he certainly lived up to his username, moany bastard (granted, english wasn't his first language). a quick search reveals:
downer wrote:pics from our gig. the guitar is a 1966 jaguar, with jazzmaster Duncan pickups.
the paint was stripped and i wait for a new seafoam green refinish.

smack my bottom and call me columbo! the tuners look vintage, but probably from a mustang, jag ones would have had metal buttons.

That natural finish jag is amazing. Do you have to do any specific mods to make JM pickups work in a Jag?

Why doesnt fender make a shortscale jazzmaster or a jag with jazzmaster pickups instead of the crappy ones on the hh jags. Isnt the best road to a jazzmastered jag also a classic players hh jaguar since the routing is already there.

There needs to be a thread of jazzmasters with jag setups. I would LOVE a longscale jag.

Question to those of you who have Jags with JM pickups: Do they sound different from JMs or are they more or less the same in terms of sound?

I've loved that guitar from the first time I saw it - the only thing I'd personally change is the pickguard (mint or white) - outside of that, it looks fantastic!
