I'm looking to buy a '3 hole' jazz bass control plate, the style that's used with the 62 concentric setup.
The standard control plate has 4 holes (for the jack and 3 knobs) and I want a 3 hole (for the jack and two knobs)
They're not too tough to come across but because they're less common than the 4 hole version they seem to be overly expensive. A UK or US source is fine I'm just trying to find the cheapest place to get one. It's for a Japanese Squier if that makes any difference.
With thanks to Mr Heron, do has success. I bought the axes r us one and re-wired the bass for master volume and a pot that blends between the pickups like a pan knob on a stereo. It's something I've been considering for quite some time and I definitely prefer it to the stock wiring (individual volume per pickup and master tone). The one downside is being to so easily sweep between the pickups makes it easier to notice that they are the weak point of the bass. There isn't any other part of it I'm not happy with. I won't be upgrading them for quite sometime though as funds are tight and I don't even own a bass amp at the moment.
jamez - can you maybe measure the length (from point to jack-end tip), and flaring width of your old control plate and maybe flash it to me? i'd love something like this for my shortscale jazz bass, but fear my plate may be smaller (although it looks like it might be damn similar).

also, it looks skinnier, kinda like a bass V plate?
It looks pretty similar to me. My bass is a MIJ Squier and the plate I bought was Fender branded and had Made in USA on it and they were the same size. I'll measure the one I took off and post some numbers.
Flare - 69mm
Longest end to end - 152mm
Either pickguard end screw hole to jack socket end screw hole - 125mm
From centre jack socket hole to centre furthest pot hole (same on 3 hole and 4 hole) - 107mm
