Shortscale bass

thanks!
so the jazz pu was dead. i found a mexican jazz pu and threw it in... well, stuffed it in. forget what i said about the pickups being standard size. the jazz on the jag is longer and thinner than the mexican pu i put in. had to squeeze it in the jag's cover to get it in there... and the poles don't line up completely with the cover so they aren't flush at all. talk about a bitch. i definitely don't feel comfortable unwrapping the old pu, but since it doesn't work i may as well try it now. i also put some 50-105s on there (with some nut filing). plays much better, but it could stand a truss adjustmentbit of intonating.

Really? The DiMarzio Model J pickup I installed in the bridge of the full-scale Jag bass was a perfect fit. Now, the Model P was a little bit of a tight fit, but I just had to file away just a tiny bit in the pickguard with a pair of scissors, no big surgery or anything. One thing I've noticed about DiMarzio pickups is they're generally a hair smaller than other brands, which I think is a good thing because I've never had problems fitting DiMarzios anywhere.
I really doubt that the full-scale and short-scale Jag basses would use different bridge pickups.

Kicking and squealing Gucci little piggy.
Yeah, that seems really counterintuitive... especially given the price. You'd think there was virtually nothing specialized about themhoneyiscool wrote:I really doubt that the full-scale and short-scale Jag basses would use different bridge pickups.

Sorry but I can't specify. I leaked a little info on the pawnshop stuff discreetly before now, but since then someone else who I work with has been in sh!t for talking about another product before release so I'm saying nothing.
... I just wanted to put a heads up for anyone considering a SS bass in the near future.
I think it will fill another gap in the market nicely... not currently something that is out there in this form, and 98% of you are gonna like it !!

I'm most definitely going to buy one.

That would be brilliant... though I'm not sure that a lot of people would leap at it. VIs are my instrument style of choice, but, VI players are certainly a niche audience.
