This thing is immense. It sounds like a Twin reverb, minus the reverb. BUT THATS WHAT THEY INVENTED PEDALS FOR!!!
Next step- upgrade 15" cab and level venues.

I want a Beta Bass baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad...

I miss my beta lead like whoa, sometimes the sovtek colors my pedals too much and my Blackheart is a bit too bright at times. But the Beta Lead was always perfect. Good solid state amps are way under-rated.

If it says Sunn O))) on it, buy it. ;)

My Beta Lead was seriously great and I've hear similar tales about the concert lead an alpha series.

Crate powerblocks are awesome. Love mine, just need to buy a cab to go with it - I've only been able to plug it into the speakers in my vox.

I've currently running solidstates in preference to Valve, a Peavey Standard 260/Intermusic and a HH 4x12 and my Roland JC 120, for the noise sounds thing I use them for, they are so much better than the Sound City L120.

All Hail SS.

Roland Jazz Chorus.

Or, one of the massive Line 6's (Spider or Flextone) or a Roland Cube, all of which have models of the Jazz Chorus as well as other things.

As I've been more focusing on pedals for my dirt, I've honestly been thinking about selling the Sovtek for a powerful SS. But it's so hard to let go of your first love. Maybe I'll get one and just run a stereo setup...

I had a spider ii and had no love for it, the tremolo kept bleeding through even when I had the effects knob right down. I'm looking for something with no built in effects

Well duh, get one that isn't broken. That's sort of a rule for buying things anyway.

It seemed to be a cumulative problem. It got worse over a period of time and done my nut in.

Solidstates are great, Session or Acoustic solidstates are great amps, or the old HH stuff, all pretty dam cheap on the 'bay usually as well. But I do love the Peavey series laterallateral posted, same as my Peavey standard is, sure it could use a service, but iti keeps on trucking, when I hear a strange noise with a valve amp, I start worrying, and then there's re-valving, eurgh.

Every now and again I look on eBay hoping to find anything made by sunn o))). Nothing by them ever seems to turn up in the UK though.

But yeah. Nice amp maaan.
