Falcon's fretboard radius?

Post by GreenKnee »

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody would be able to help me decide what radius my freeboard is. I printed off the gauges from the Compton bridge website, but I am not 100% sure.

I have taken these photos to help:

To me, the 12" looks more like it, and that is also what is stated on the Gretsch website, but I have read of people's Gretsch's not matching the websites specs.

Thanks for the help.

Looks like 12" to me but I'd take the strings off I wanted to be super accurate.

There's a crazy radius on those pickup screws though. Was that how you bought it?

Yep, that's how they came stock, except I did unscrew the High E pole pieces a little to balance the sound. Once I have my new Compton bridge for it, I'm going to experiment with the pole pieces. Apparently, people had had really good results by screwing in half of the pole pieces all the way, to imitate a wide range humbucker, so I think Ill try that :)
