What is a good(cheap) Gretsch?
Moderated By: mods
my bro had one just like the one sonicboom posted. It looked good, but it needed a fret job straight out of the box. wasn't too impressed with it, may have been the pickups though. He sold it for good without loss due to a price increase on the new ones and has stuck to his Duesenberg STarplayer TV when it comes to semiacoustics. That's an awesome guitar.

Can you get this (lead)sound

with this guitar? It is the "pre Chet" Tenny. I remember when Musicians friend was blowing them out for cheap.

Here is an original on ebay for $3999(Link)

I am dubious of Jonathan's Gretsch there, looks way toot thin. It is about as wide as a Les Paul...
I have been wanting a Gretsch as well lately, but I'd be more interested in a double cutaway. I used to hate the double cutaway ones when I was way into Rockablly in the 1990s. Now the single cutaway doesn't do it for me.
