Humbucker sized P90's

Post by Johno »

I have a Seymour Duncan Phat Cat Bridge which I am looking to pair up with another humbucker sized P90 to fit in my Sheraton, any recommendations other than another PC (they don't appear on ebay often)

Am looking to do this on the cheap so will be searching ebay etc

I was using GFS dream 90's for a while, they were quite excellent and were only like $32 each I think? I just gave them over to my friend and he put them in his LP, and they sound great. Not sure if GFS ships to the UK though.

GFS do indeed ship to the UK; I've had both the Dream 90s and the Mean 90s - controversially, I think I preferred the Dream 90s. However, the third way would be to try some Tonerider Rebel 90s.

I too prefer the Dream 90’s they had a more ‘full’ sound than the Mean 90’s which I found had too much treble and sounded a bit tinny...

I put a pair of Tonerider Rebel 90s in my Epiphone SG. They sound extremely good for the money, think I paid £55 for a pair.
Don't look at me I'm irrelevant!

cheers guys, will investigate the various GFS, from my understanding the Dream 90 is considered a cleaner pup in compariosn to the Mean 90?

Anyone tried the Duncan 59' or 57' buckers?

from what they say on their site its the opposite...... Mean 90 is clearer but louder......I went with the Mean 90 because it is supposively closer to a real p90 in design/construction

Duncan 59's are one of my fav for neck pickups....very nice
