So pretty much everything about it except the body shape (and an obvious addition of strat knobs, including one extra?) itself looks like a '69 Tiesco ET-200 (Tulip). The body shape however has different cutaways, and the protrusions are squared off.
For what it's worth, this is the guitar that Billy Corgan used to record "1979", "Mayonnaise", and their new song that probably blows "Panopticon".
So from what I've been able to gather the guitar I linked above is referred to as a Kimberly Apollo II, and the 4 pickup version you linked Dan is actually called a Kimberly Apollo IV.
Also, thanks Red for that info, it was actually on my to-do list to figure out which model James used in that video and the Teisco K-2L you linked is it!

Yeah, I think they look fantastic but they just feel so cheap. I had a wonderful honeymoon with mine, but ultimately it sounded better than it played so I just yanked the gold foil out and put it in my tele. The neck is thick and the fretboard is uncomfortable. The bridge is just like an acoustic bridge with shallow little indents for the strings, but it's metal and the strings buzz/pop out. Craaaaap.
But those foil pups sound so velvety fine. Bear in mind that my experience comes from one of the lower end single pickup models. Perhaps the Del Rays are of a higher quality?
if you go back in the posts a ton you can find the picture that I posted in here.
oh wow yes i see... heh he mentions he only used it for the "whistle" (feedback squeals) - that makes more sense!
1979? - wow i wonder where, how?
i'll give it a listen!
here's a pic of mine:
and yes, i have a bit of the Teisco cheapo bug... have many of them stashed around the house.
here's my K-3L, this one plays and sounds really cool (but needs new electronics) - i have a leftover pup of these which i'll stuck in the neck of my '65 jag!
Whilst looking at some of these old 60s/70s guitars I found this picture:
That hollow body on the end is one of the nicest I've ever seen. The shape is definitely rickenbacker-inspired, looks amazing. All I know is it's branded 'Raven', can't find any other info on it.... damn.
