Ahh of course, I guess the headstock shape threw me off as I never paid attention to it on this model.

Thanks guys!

That's the one he played during the melancholy tour. Used it to play 1979 and apologized for it's ugliness

Well, Teles are ugly IMO, but that doesn't keep me from liking them.

It just looks a bit funky, like a lot of retro weird looking guitars and looks rather nice with that white finish.

he's right teles are ugly. I think it has to do with all the hardware and the pickguard being at right angles. it's just not a very graceful looking design. of course that's part of the appeal though. it's a "workhorse" guitar and it looks very utilitarian. they're great playing and sounding guitars (possibly my favorite feel and sound of any guitar) but they're just so fucking ugly. part of the motive behind modding my tele was an attempt to dress it up a bit. I much prefer the look of telecasters with other pickup arrangements.

I don't know . . . I like them; especially Esquires. I do favor the non-traditional colors on teles, however. Fiesta red, Lake Placid Blue, and Vintage white.

His words not mine... it does look like what a Telecaster would have looked like if they'd been designed by Dean

I hear the talmans play great and have a decent following, but I agree that they are not the prettiest things ever.... between the Talman and a Tele I would go Tele all day for looks, but I like simple classic designs

Aye I'm a Tele man myself, but I've always quite liked ibanez' more classic designs talman, roadster, jet king. There all slightly odd takes on fender shapes. But seem to find a place in folks hearts.

Ibanez Talmans are good . Especially the Japanese ones . They also made them in Korea but they are not as desired . I've tried a few models and liked them . I like the ones with the lipstick pickups. They also make it in a semi hollow . I really like those....

Hey, man, I like Telecasters and Esquires. My drummer called mine ugly, and I was like, sure, but if you played guitar, you would know why this makes a great guitar.

I think Deluxe Teles are especially ugly. Let's combine an unappealing body shape with a stupidly massive pickguard.
