2 buckers and a 5 way switch

Post by cur »

My friend sold me his old Carvin C22B and H22N humbuckers. I am going to use them on my Douglas Spad.

Any suggestions for wiring this set up. 2 pups, volume, tone, 5 way switch. what to do?

I need new string for after the work so I am going to get new pots (what 500? 1000?) I can get push pull more options.

if they're 4 wire, i'd use a 5 way super switch for different splits and stuff

Isn't the spad already setup with a 5 way? I thought it had coil splitting settings out of the box.

Yes they are 4 wire pups.

It is does have a 5 way rotary switch.

Option 1, is to just wire how it is. But if I am going to be wiring and stuff it is as good of time as any to do any configuration changes that would be worth doing.

Set up like this now: 5-way pickup selector switch with coil tapping.

For stratphobic, when I got the pink glow strings and the uv lamp, I had to show the kids the joys of Tide.

Coitap or coilsplit?

I'd totes go for 'both pickups split' over 'both pickups bucking', seeing as you've just got the 5 positions.

Wired it up the same with 2 and 4 as coil tap. It is easy enough to change the wiring since I only have to remove the back cover to do so. Now I need to get another set of DRs glow panks.

Looks better with the cream and zebraz. Matches the binding. Also I have changed out the bridge to a wilkinson roller a while back to get it to intonate. This allowed for more saddle movement.

Sounds muy muy better now.
