Attaching a tele neck to the body

Anyone got any advice on this? I've got to drill the holes into the neck myself so I just want to make sure I don't mess it up!!!

I've read you should string both the hign and low E's so that you can get the string spacing perfect... apart from that I'm fairly clueless!

I use a 24" ruler. Rest the straight edge against the sides of the neck, normally this will line up with the height adjustment screws of the saddles. Don't worry too much, you'll still have a little bit of room to wiggle after you drill it anyway.
