Power supplies

Post by awfurby »

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good power supply for a pedalboard. I've got the T-Rex Fueltank Classic in mind, but some of the brands listed on this page are a bit cheaper. I;m not really sure what to look for so any tips or advice would be appreciated.

I love my Voodoo Pedal Power 2, but there are definitely cheaper options out there. I mounted mine under my Pedaltrain pro. I also like that it can power my Line 6 DL4 using just one slot.

Can you post a pick of your board? It helps to know what you are running when recommending a power source.

No pic but the chain is:
Boss TU-2 --> Lastgasp Type 88 Fuzz --> Lastgasp Clean Boost --> Guyatone VT-2 Tremolo --> Boss DD-3 --> Boss RE-20

Lastgasp stuff! Nice. I've got a Rattle Crow on my board.

A Rattle Crow - lucky you! Sadly they don't make that anymore. The other one I wish they still made is the Ripplet trem.

I use the Harley Benton Power Plant.
For 39€, it's a steal imo. Never had a problem with it.

If you're worried about hum at all, get something with isolated outputs. Not that supplies without isolated outputs will always have humming issues.

This has isolated outputs, and is similar in feature set to the Harley Benton, with added sag pots

I've ordered one for pedal testing.

Thanks - that looks interesting albeit a bit bulky for my board. Good to know there are other options.
