I need a wiring diagram and protips

Post by ekwatts »

HELP.

I need a wiring diagram for a three-pickup guitar with a single master volume and tone and an individual on/off switch for each pickup. Also what sort of cap should be used for filtertron-style pickups? Is that in humbucker territory?

I don't mind if it's rough, I just need something to work with.

My pro-tip would be to find the closest thing you can and then work from there. For example you might be able to find a diagram for what you want but only using two pickups which would be easy to adapt. Even if you don't get something that exact, finding diagrams with the features you want and then combining them is not too difficult to do. You can also find some filteron diagrams and see what caps are typically used.

Seymour duncan is a good place to look.

They have exactly what you wanted, though you'd base the pot on cap values on the pickups you use rather than the numbers there.

Aha, thanks James. I missed that completely. Most obvious place to look and all that stuff.

Poifect.
