Hmm. I see.theshadowofseattle wrote:There was not a single attractive guitar in this thread.
Well, let's gauge your idea of attractive versus mine.
I think that this is the most attractive guitar.
What do you think of that one? Interesting, and different, at least? That's my taste.
I do of course defer to your 23, 602 posts.
I got the custom tuners for my unattractive Super-Sonic today. Left-hand gold-plated locking Sperzels with pearl buttons. Then dropped the whole thing off at Sled Dog Music so that John might get it dialed in.
It might indeed be an ugly guitar in the end. It may be a lesson in getting exactly what you want. My favourite guitar, in my favourite colour, with an Esquire-like configuration, and gold and pearl.
I perhaps should also be kept away from dressing myself and cutting my own hair.
A Whole Bunch of Guitars. Some with sparkles. Some with Pearl. Some with racing stripes.

Interested to see ow this will turn out, Wade. Just the same, I'm afraid the massive size both the moden Tele bridge and the guard as posted on a narrow offset like the SS will kill a huge amount of classic Fender aesthetic about it, but knowing my history, I'm not especially in the position to judge!
Curiously charming!
Though I'm pretty sure the owner isn't around these parts, I have a feeling that the very funky Cindicaster Mk.I (wonder what St. Jimmy has done with it as of late!) had pickguard cues that would give my eyes a bit of a break from the angular amoeba overload going on. Forget the gumby head/Ronald Reagan haircut of the Cindicaster...That hard angle on the SS above the bridge would be interesting to see softened up.

Holy Moly..THIS would be a nice project, considering the original price..wadeaminute wrote:Hmm. I see.theshadowofseattle wrote:There was not a single attractive guitar in this thread.

I don't really want to think of the price. It must be over $1000 for a $500 guitar.
OK. Let's see...
Hmm. That's a lot. Honestly the first time I added it up. Oops.
That being said, it is my own little custom dream guitar: A coral pink Super-Sonic set up like an Esquire with gold parts, a pearl pickguard, custom pickup, 8 tones, custom locking Sperzels, etc.
Plus, I can stop buying Super-Sonics at five.

Picking it up tomorrow. Had some wiring problems. I had bought a pre-wired harness from RS that allowed 4 different tones for both the humbucker and split-coil modes (so, eight tones). Something didn't work. But I'm told it does now.
The tones are pickup-to jack, volume and tone connected, cocked wah, and classic Esquire muddy rhythm tone. The humbucker, as I have said above, is a SD custom shop BG1400. The Pearly Gates for Esquire, stacked. I also have a momentary stuttering kill button on there.
Just the custom tuners to install and a set-up and it's done.

Did you seriously just write all of that because somebody on the internet doesn't like your guitars?wadeaminute wrote:What do you think of that one? Interesting, and different, at least? This is shortscale; thicken that skin up. If somebody doesn't like your ish, you say "NO U" and then this issue is resolved.

Edmonton! I'm in Winnipeg. I'm off to Calgary on Thursday.
It sounds so mean. It's got a muddy / bassy / rhythm setting, a cocked-wah setting, and a normal bridge with volume and tone setting. Plus it has a stacked humbucker that is splitable. And a stuttering kill button.
I need to get better pictures. I'll work on that.
