Trade an Amp for a Shortscale?

Post by taylornutt »

I saw a CIJ Jaguar HH special on CL and he said he was interested in trades for amps. I have my 1975 Fender Musicmaster Bass amp and I am trying to decide if it's a good idea to trade for the Jaguar. I am hesistant because the MMB amp works well and my daughter uses it when we practice. However, I have always wanted the CIJ Jaguar HH to mod.

Should I hold onto the amp or try to trade it for the guitar?

Yeah, these aren't exactly spectacular amps, and you've been wanting the guitar for a while. Seems like a winnar is you.

My Jag is the best instrument I own next to my Taylor, great platform for mods too. Id do it since you picked up the mmb cheap. Pick up a vox vt or pathfinder, you and your daughter will get a lot of use out of it and should be more reliable.

I dissent. They make new Jags every day. They do not make new MMBs, and they are great little amps.

From a present value economic stance, if you can get a straight trade you will come out ahead on dollars.

But, I wouldn't make the trade.

I am going to make an offer and see what happens. A bit of a long shot but the guitar has been on CL for a while and they maybe wanting to get whatever they can for it.

I apparently just missed out on it, as he just traded it . Seems most of my transaction on CL have had a similar result.
