How Oregonian of you, rootin' for the home team  Saw heaps of them (and some hooded ones as well) at my parents' property in Bellingham, WA, before they sold it, too.

Srsly though, I agree with Mages' words on the bridge.

The dilemma is that the Jazzmaster pickups aren't going to be buried up to their necks in the routes as if they were any other Tele/Strat deal, so what are the options for a bridge that stands tall enough to clear the p'ups? The truth is that Fender doesn't regularly make probably any better options, so buyers are stuck with what they got. Out of the higher sitting bunch, I'd nonetheless rather have done...

1. A Gibson SG Special-type stop piece . Great sustain, pure rock and roll. Mildly intonatable. Admittedly not very Fenderish.
2. TOM with tailpiece. CIJ hum'd Jags do fine with them.
3. A 6-saddle modern strat hardtail bridge on platforms shoes. Would be ugly, but highly functional.

I hate the lack of left handed models. I find it hard enough to find a guitar I really like, I can't imagine how awkward it'd be if I was lefty.

Both of my main guitars are upside down rightys. The only 'acceptable' (barely) fully working lefty guitar I have is my jagstang. its depressing.

they are shitty for that price-- I really thought I wanted one for a month and I played 3 jms and 3 jags (very uneven quality control-- one neck was visibly misaligned in the pocket) then I realised that I could get a used jagmaster for half the price and the tremolo I thought I would hate turned out to be kinda fun. /shrug

I really liked the fiesta red tho. why does fender only offer a wide array of colors on their high end shit? are there people out there who can afford to pay an extra thousand dollars just to get something in sonic blue or surf green (besides a strat)?

Yeah, that's what's cool about the japanese stuff. It's a pretty common occurrence for a photo of a Japanese store to feature Rainbow Mustangs.
