gator 789 is on a roll, swinging around a pair of defibrillator contact pads to shock every corpse thread in site back to life!

...with very little to add.

But you've been reading here for ages without posting so presumably these threads are old to you too, no?

no i said that ive come to this site for good info throughout the years....ive never said that i come and read and spend a lot of time on this site....doesnt really matter cause its clear to me that no matter what i do on this site someone is going to make a rude comment and concern themselves with what im doing....it would be awfully nice if people treated the next guy like they would like to be treated......guess that doesnt happen too much here.....

You should stick around. It looks weird when someone resurrects an old thread and that behaviour, whether innocent or not, is always going to get a bit of attention. Don't worry about it.

I have patiently and reasonably explained in other zombied threads that it is considered bad etiquette to resurrect a thread and add a comment of little content. Not dismissing your opinion but it adds little in the context of resurrecting the thread, sending out notification to all previous posters who then come here to read: "nice jag worn by him.....not a bought relic....."

I avoid busting balls about this kind of thing but dude, when someone says its bad etiquette do try and listen yeah? Why not post some pics of your gear in the pics thread - start a new thread about soemthing you're into or want to discuss. Best way to introduce yourself!

You cannot reason with an necromancer. They only know zombies and undeath. The only solution is to counter with a cleric or a paladin.

You're right, he made his 50. He obviously didn't like the look of anything in the classifieds as he has yet to post there though.

He has mentioned in a few threads he builds pedals so I guess he will start advertising himself soon enough.

Funny how he stopped dead on 50 ha ha

It's interesting, the 50 post rule serves its stated function. But it also serves a secondary function in that when people attempt to cheat the rule by getting 50 quick posts of no substantive value, everyone else becomes wary of dealing with that person.

I wouldnt worry about a necromancer. If hes cool he'll stick around and be cool. If not, he'll go. No worries, I think we've all breached some unwritten rules in our time.

Pretty sure that the prohibition against raising the dead through the dark arts is a written rule:

Leviticus 19:31

“Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.

Isaiah 8:19

And when they say to you, “Inquire of the mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the living?

Deuteronomy 18:11

Or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead,

I'm not saying that this guy won't make fair trades in the classified. I'm just concerned that anyone who trades with him will be damned for all time.

The whole point about the 50 posts rule is so you can engage with other members and introduce yourself as well as just meeting* the post count (good pun there, I thought). That way people get to know you're trustworthy and a man of character who wants to contribute. By simply resurrecting old threads you are not engaging (especially as you don't hang around for the aftermath), and in fact, after having been warned not to do this on several occassions, you are going against forum etiquette.

In fact, now you've basically come out and said you are doing this purely for the classifieds. We are not a large forum like Harmony Central, as such you will not be able to sneak about like this and slowly meet the post count without us all realising. Everyone has now seen your dirty laundry and I would imagine people will be reluctant to trade with you. Consider yourself marked.

Please stop with the emotional guilt trip about it being new content for you. You have been warned by plenty of members now so do not persist in this way. Please try and engage with new content and add to discussion, maybe even posting about some gear or projects you've done. Shortscale has a boner for that sort of thing. You may also want to grow some thicker skin.
