+1, if I bought one of these I'd definitely get a tort plate for it. I wonder what pickguard spec it has given that it's more complicated than the blacktops'...

yeah, i know how it's supposed to work... it's extremely stiff though. i took the tailpiece off and engaged it. didn't realise it completely blocks the downward motion of the trem... and when i was tuning back up i broke the top E string.

Eh? Upward motion of the trem, surely? Also, the button on the tremloc is threaded - have you tried turning it anti-clockwise a tiny bit to loosen it?

I did notice when I saw Stewart playing Mike's Jag at Progfest that he grabs the arm and turns it either clockwise or anti-clockwise in the collet to change the sound, rather than the more traditional "bend it up and down" approach. He looked a little disappointed and confused then, too.

F youse. i figured it out, it was just really tight and took a bit of buggering about with the tension screw. and yes, it completely blocks the trem, honest...

I'm just psyched Squier is finally putting out a nice jag/jazz shaped guitar with the appropriate features. it sincerely pisses me off that the trem is closer to the bridge, but for the price of $350-$400 USD I can't complain. Now I wont have to buy one of those dumbass blacktop jazzmasters and pretend I'm happy.

anyone guess what kind of tuners will be on these things? im sure its the duo sonic vintage style type..

i see this guitar in my future...

Y'all noticed it has a (tuneomatic) adjust-o-matic bridge right?

The trem should be moved closer to the bridge on all Jags and Jazzies because the original 50s design is fucking flawed. Fucks sake. If you really need those extra harmonics then play a fucking sitar.
