Decided on my first Offset/Shortscale (New issue arises)

Yeah - import tax isn't guaranteed though, the last guitar I ordered didn't get hit for it, though it was worth less. If it was marked as gift it might not get hit. I think it may be possible to pay EU taxes up front rather than dealing with the rather high Irish taxes in specific. I dunno, I don't feel great about the idea of taxing second hand stuff. Theoretically if you had a guitar passed around a lot, like some guitars have been on this board have been(if I got the BM Jag it would have been shipped to the US and back), more than half the worth of the item could end up collected, easily.

it may be worth going with the UK, which can work out slightly cheaper.

Does suck to miss out on the BM though. Maybe some day?

Yeah, the tax thing is complete bullshit. Really riles me tbh though i forgot your in Ireland, dont know how it works there.

The problem with buying new gear is that we work ourselves into a frenzy after reading reviews, watching videos and obsessing so have to buy it asap. I know the feeling all too well. Hang in there - showing patience means there will always be other options and better deals. If you can't wait you pay the difference.

Yeah, but I've been looking for a guitar for a while. I've always wanted a Jag, I just had to play some short scale necks to make sure my hands weren't too big.

I guess I'm the kind of person who really does push ahead with things, but to be fair, I don't really have one reliable, decent guitar so I need one, and a lot of people are telling me "Just get one already!"

There was also Mike's Jag Dave was considering selling too - though I've kind of gone off the Sunburst TBH it's still a consideration if he still has it.

I finally bought a fucking Jag. Fuck yes. I got a good deal on it so I'll sell it on if I don't like it as much.

Expect the usual cycle of Buy new guitar -> HOLY SHIT THIS IS THE MOST AWESOME THING EVER -> I think a different bridge would be nice -> I think different pickups would be nice -> I think I'll try adding an internal Ring Mod or some bullshit -> I think I need to sell it and try a different guitars ->Shit I wish I hadn't sold that guitar what the fuck was I thinking that internal ring mod was awesome...

hahaha very well put, I found myself there plenty of times...the closest hits to home were probably my Burgandy Mist 60's Strat with lace golds and LR Baggs X Bridge/ctrl-x, 80's Squier Bullet with GK pickup installed, and a ton of pedals I've thought of awesome uses for long after I sold them

What I like about single coil jaguars is that it's not really a strat... but it can do a really good strat impression if you know how to play it.
