I did a nice trade today and picked up a Mexican Jaguar. I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit, the radius isn't bugging me as much as I thought it would. I think the profile on the back of the neck is very good and it feels less plank-like than most Mexican Strats I've played.
It's been messed with a bit. Upper circuit has been switched so up is off, not on. The switch hole has been crudely cut. I reckon whoever had it was thinking about changing the orientation of the swith. The lower circuit now has a toggly and a kill switch. The bridge pickup is an SD 1/4 pounder.
Dunno if I'm gonna keep it, try to trade for a Jazzmaster or use parts for my project and part the rest out. Def needs a black guard and a pup cover to match. I had a set that colour too but gave en away to someone on here yonks ago.

Yeah I have a few sticks in the wind right now. I hate waiting on deliveries. I'll post some "guitar family" pics when they arrive. I won't be keeping all the stuff I have. After the splurge comes the cull....
I have no idea why people put kill switches on jags/jazzies. the rhythm circuit already doubles for a kill switch if you turn the volume all the way down.
duh, but it also puts it on the upper horn, which is not always the ideal place for a kill switch. having it on the lower bout is much more accessible in a real time playing situation.

alright then. I personally don't think there's much difference between those positions but I guess if someone wants to put it in a better place for them that's fine. still seems silly to me to dedicate an entire switch to solely being a kill switch unless it is completely central to your sound and you use it all the time. for 99.999% of people who only use it occasionally it makes more sense to keep the rest of the functionality of the guitar intact. I think the strangle switch is more useful than a kill switch.
right, but personally i would rip the whole fucking rhythm switch out and just use the little cavity to hold a couple cigarettes. far more useful, imho.
