Not sure. Got it from a thread in the mods + projects section of OSG.Narco Martenot wrote:What is the date of that photo? 1993-04-09? The knobs appear to be different in the photo?

blimey, that does seem to make it one of a kind. bizarre.
edit: mind you, pat seems to unearth the occasional 60s weirdo mexican fender guitar which has the 50s logo on it, as if they thought "ah, this one's getting shipped across the border, fuck it."
perhaps it's a mexican export re-imported?

This is my theory.
The guitar had a standard jag neck w/ standard decal. The headstock sustained some chunky damage so the bottom portion was re-shaped to get rid of the damaged area and subsequently made the overall shape look more strat-like. The standard jag decal was removed in the process so they threw a repro decal on headstock and called it a day.
I have actually seen that repro spaghetti jag decal on one other guitar (a righty jaguar).

well piss, I just meant binding . . .
and are we really sure what they did on left models? I mean, the strat headstock, sure; they're not going to change that. But it wouldn't surprise me if they used those logos. Also, I don't see why if there was a mishap with the headstock, Kurt would want the logo put back on. Doesn't really seem to his personality, right?
I also realize I'm saying that I've never actually met him but it's not how I would perceive his personality.

You're probably assuming correctly, therefore it would have happened before he owned it.portugalwillie wrote:well piss, I just meant binding . . .
