Rare cyclone - thoughts?

I think fret blocks, bindings, flame maple (top)/flame neck etc. are things that go into that category. Expensive guitars.

I'm not expecting to see that on Mustang, Cyclone, Jag-Stang etc.
Furthermore for me it is unwanted "detail" on those guitars.

But then again I generally don't prefer to see flame maple tops.
Just ain't my cup of tea.

I think one of two things happened here. Either because its Korean 'custom shop' they tried to spice it up, although photo flame is a dire inexpensive way to do that. Or maybe, around the time these were released because PRS were quite popular they went for the exotic coffee table look. Fender have these moments were they break the mould to appeal to another part of the guitar market.

By the way any photo flame finish will start split and peel off your guitar at about 19 years of age. Mine is. Mind you so is the neck finish so i have no idea what the Japanese Fender dudes where using back then. Egg yolk and cum I think.
