Some guy is selling this for $10. Can anyone tell what this is, and if it's a good deal?

All I've been able to find out about these is that the brand is "FET & Silicon Transistar Amplifier" (yes, TransistAr)
And that it is likely of Japanese origin. For ten bucks, though? I'd definitely get it just to try it out and open it up to see what's inside.

One went on ebay for $33 so I may be coming out ahead. It is made in Japan.
