PATMASTER!

Post by aen »

WOOT! Ups had this waiting for me today. Hotrodperlmutter sent me this little beauty.

Image

A little damage, but hey, I can fix that shizz!

Image
Replaced the tone pot, installed bronco knobs (extra Thanks hotrodperlmutter!)
And since I am not worried about vintage mojos or resale, I installed a bypass toggle, to skip the vol and tone pots. I only had one string around, so i'm not sure how effective it is, but it certainly functions. I only had a 1meg pot for tone, so it's kind of bright anyway.
I also sanded the neck a tiny bit with super fine sandpaper, the wear was really crackly and kind of slowwed my hand down.

I ALSO WASHED THE FUCK OUT OF THE FRETBOARD AND TURNED ALL MY RAGS SHIT BROWN. Clearly Hotrod used to rub doody into the fretboard to make mojo tones. JK. Tomorrow I will buy strangs!

Nothing says sexy like a vintage Musicmaster with Bronco Knobs. Haze did my wiring harness which included a treble bleed circuit. The simplicity of the Musicmaster is such a contrast to my Jaguar. Love it.

Have to change pots back to 250k. Thing sounds like a lazer razor.
Also, I might have to replace the saddles, I cant adjust the action casue them screws are stuck and old :(

Soak the saddles in WD40 for a few hours, undo, then wipe away excess WD40. Sorted!

just get some brass saddles. those threaded steel saddles are kind of cheesy. brass has got the low end, and if I know one thing about aen, it's that he likes a little junk in the trunk.
