Well, that's much more comforting than £417 as someone mentioned. Still, it wants to play and sound good for that money when you consider the quality CVs offer for much less.

i think they should've etched squier into the trem plate. looks silly and cheap with nothing on it.

that pickguard doesn't look anodized at all. it looks like CNC'd sap.

The 2nd colour option has been removed from the Squier site. Probably just the white that's available. Nice though.

lulz

pot + black = kettle

yes, what a dire character flaw to express my opinion over an aesthetic observation.

MAN UP, etc.

Wow. Way to overreact.

I said it was a stupid thing to moan about, and it is. The neckplate is touching your body the whole time you're playing it. It's invisible.

Also the MAN UP thing was clearly a (hilarious) joke with a friend of mine (Dave), you fucking mentalcase (see now I'm getting personal, I clearly wasn't before - can you tell the difference now?).

these are part of the signature series Fran so the quality is usually better than the CVs (see the Simon Neil Strat), I was quoted the RRP I think in digital village but there are lot of places out there now offering them for CV money. I can't wait to get to play one.

In fairness, he did say the tremplate and not the neckplate which you suggested...

The more I think about it, as boring as it is in regard to some hot colors we've seen come out of the CV line in the recent past, Vintage White + anodized gold guard really is the perfect combo for this Squier model in particular. Three reasons:

1. Complements pickup covers nicely like a matched set.
2. Huge visual options from a simple pickguard switch: mint, white, non-ugly red tort, brown tort, black. Pick color and you've got a good chance you've just instantly personalized it while keeping it very classy like a vintage Fennner.
3. Anodized guard on ebay = $ for the early birds

Why would they etch fender onto the trem plate? It's not a Fender. I realise there's crossover here, but I doubt Fender would have nodded approvingly at that. It sort of destroys the £60+ price Fender charges for replacements if you get one mounted on a sub-£400 guitar. They're not even on the Blacktops.

Oh, whoops.

But that's easy: Because it would be more expensive than simply slapping an OEM blank version without tremlock or etching on the thing. Same as the Blacktop.

I noticed the butterscotch model is no longer listed on Squier's site. They could be just taking it off until the photos are ready.

I'd say it's more likely that whoever entered the data copied the listing for the strat jack jazzmaster and forgot to edit that part. I very much doubt this will come in more than one colour.
