Pat this video is great! Really informative and the pedal sounds fucking amazing. If I don't win this auction I'm definately making myself one of these.

great video Pat, lovely sounding pedal and it looks similar to one I had in the early 90s but god knows what happened to that. Wish I had one like it again though

This is the schematic. It's only one transistor boost stage (identical to a LPB-1) short of a full Superfuzz. As a result the output level is just above unity.

I breadboarded this guy just now and it sounds great. Using a CA3046 transistor array saves loads of space!

This could be due to the transistors in your array not being as high gain as something like a 2n5088?

Nope because the stock transistors are medium gain devices like 2N3904 or the ones in the array. Pat mentions the volume drop when the pedal is engaged, so really if yr gonna build this (Ben) you wanna have that final boost stage like in the Superfuzz.

Tee-hee. That was a massive own-goal for that guy. What a jerk.

Futurlec have these chips pretty cheap, so I bought a bunch to try out. They have a matched pair in the array that can be used to good effect in octavey things like this.
