Amazing Twin Reverb Deal

Post by Boab »

I'm not one to post links to deals like this, and I'm not connected to the seller at all, but I thought THIS merited a posting.

Am I correct in thinking this is a remarkable deal? Should I do all I can to go for it?

I'm gonna try. Really can't justify it, nor do I need it, but I'll try.

It's probably already sold, but if it hasn't, I'll get it. If I can sell my SS Fender Deluxe 112, soon after, then money won't be an issue.

I'll be really surprised if someone else hasn't already got it though. It's been up a few hours.

Even if it needs a serious service that's a good deal, i'd snap it up if I were you.

Looks like I've got a shot at getting this. I know diddly squat about changing valves and what not, but it seems to only need pre amp valves? What's that, like £50 for all of them?

JJ valves are decent. Have a look here - http://ssl.eurotubes.com/cart/index.ph ... gory_id=38 - for full revalve kits which will give you an idea what to look at for pre-amp valves. From memory pre-amp valves can (I think) be changed without re-biasing but if I were you'd get the amp serviced anyway and you could get the valves fitted at the same time. Hot Rox are worth a look to buy the JJ's, or any other valves that people may recommend to you.

fwiw, here's what i'd do: buy it, change the valves, flip it for 3x the price, buy a lighter amp. they weigh a fuckton.

Cheers for the advice folks. I'm gonna be getting it this Friday for £190, so I'll suss out what to do then. I'm really skint at the moment, so will have to wait until payday to get it serviced and stuff, but it does seem like an incredible price.

Can't believe it! I've really no need for it, with my Bugera v55HD and no name 4x12 for rehearsals and a SS Fender Deluxe 112 (have you not got/had one Stewart?) for in my house. I think I will just get this, do it up, and sell it for profit. The Bugera sounds awesome enough.

Ha - I enquired about that amp too, but the guy never got back to me. Hope it turns out good for you. Too bloody heavy for an old geezer like me, anyway.

I say that now, but maybe after a chance of playing through it, new valves and all, might mind might be swayed. If I can sell my Deluxe 112 I can justify keeping this.

Fair do's. Although I'd like to call dibs if you ever do decide to sell it on!
