Rivera Knucklehead 55

Post by Dogma Hollow »

Just nabbed this off eBay.

I had a Knucklehead Reverb 100 several years ago, which I liked but was way too overpowered and the gain wasn't very natural to my ears. The older Riveras have a much more natural sound to my ears.

Only shit part is waiting for it to get here. There should be a word for the time between when a musician buys a piece of gear he/she likes and the time when they actually get it and let it rip the first time. Like "period of musical oblivion" or something. Oh well, it'll be here in a week.

I'd say that time frame is usually called the "shit...I hope my stuff on ebay sells so I can get this thing paid off the credit card before the wife finds out" time period.

Heh, true! Fortunately since Guitar Center has started listing all their used stuff online, I managed to squeak out a smokin' deal on the rest of the gear I bought, so I hit exactly what I told her I'd be spending before selling anything. So if I can unload my Hot Rod Deville (after replacing the K1 relay) for $450 or so, I'll look pretty damn good.

Besides, she eats up most of our discretionary income with her damn hayburners...I mean horses...so she can't really complain about me dropping a few hundy here and there on gear.

I had a Rivera 55 12.

Never really liked the dirt and the cleans were just okay. I ended up trading it back to the guy who traded for it because he thought it was the greatest thing in the world. Hope ya' like it.

I've notice that's really common with Riveras. It's either love or meh.
