Jazzmaster and Jaguar DONE (for now)

Post by Thomas »

This one will be a bit of a slow burn project-wise. I traded out some old pedals etc and picked up some nice parts.

1960 Jazzmaster body with shield/tubs, pickguard with alu shield (newer) and bridge. I have some delish paint that I'm tempted to use on this but it is a lovely one piece body so I might just strip/clear it or get someone with more shillz to sunburst/marlinburst it.

I'll be looking for all the bits to finish this off. I already have a neck option, I have a Japanese 54 ri strat that I could steal the neck from but I don't really want to break that up. Plus I much prefer Rosewood.
Sorry about the pic, Photobucket has shit the bed and won't show it in the right orientation.

next up I finally found my holy grail. An A width 65 Jaguar neck pre D+B/B+B, I also have all the controls and plates from it (all 64 stamped), original guard and shield and it's OG neck plate/screws. Needs a body, trem and pups then it's good to go.

"Classy" (another word for expensive) projects

Are you going to try to use original vintage parts or whatever you can find readily available?

Yeah whenever I can. I can start with what's available now and swap parts out over time.

That Jag neck sounds like a nice fucking score. Update us when you have a body and it all together!

I will, I have my eye on a body for it right now. The neck is a fucking dream. It's currently on the 65 Duo.

My Jagg HH has turned into this:

New 1964 Jaguar parts! Now all I need is a trem (period correct would be good) and it's complete. My Quarter pounders will be going in here for now. Some Jazz parts came with it too.

I have a day of parts swapping/soldering to look forward to. :D

There's a dude locally I found through ebay who sources loads of this stuff to buy and sell on. I do a lot of trades with him for stuff I've wheelerdealered.

I'm aiming to get rid of all my reissue stuff.

Done, well until I get a new neck for it. Pup covers are in the post too. This one'll do in the meantime, it's pretty good.

I noticed all the bottles of glue on the shelf and thought that everyone would think i was a glue sniffer or something. I'm actually making my Halloweeen costume!
