Wildwood Coronado

Oh man! THIS had my name all over it.

I didn't realize there were different Wildwood categories based on how much blue stripe was visible.

Coronado II WILDWOOD The same as the Coronado II but with 6 colors of dyed Beechwood front, back and sides. The colors were indicated by roman numerals and were really a guide only as every one looks totally different.

'I' - Green
'II' - Gold and Brown
'III' - Gold and Purple
'IV' - Dark Blue
'V' - Purple Blue
'VI' - Blue Green.

Did you buy it?

Am I right in assuming you're planning on a full restoration to it's former glory?

I think I read somewhere that the wildwood colours come from adding dye to the trees as they grow.
So, it might be a strip/sand the paint off, then a clearcoat?

Wouldn't fault you for restoring it but I would play that as is (if it looks as good in person)

It's a goddamn hoedown! I didn't realize how orange that first one is. I may spray that CAR without the silver underneath so it will still be transparent. The beech on the wildwood is pretty porous.

also, regarding coronado's

I have a feeling that prices are starting to raise for a nice coronado

Just looked at ebay, and most of them sold for 1200 USD and higher for the wildwoods and antiguas

A year ago, it was in general around 900-1000 USD for a sunburst-cherry red version

maybe i am wrong and it is just a case of wishfull thinking

Nah, about a year ago I was kinda sorta in the market for one and it seemed like $850-1100 was the price for a normal sunburst II depending on condition, and wildwoods went for around $1200 or higher sometimes as much as $1500. Coro I's were going for around $600-$800 IIRC

i just noticed that the ebay seller is cheerfully admitting to spraying that shocking paint job over the wildwood. way to lose yourself $500+
