Anyone tried the Eastwood reissue of the Messenger guitar?

Do they have aluminum necks and built-in fuzz like the originals (Link) ?

That *second video is very cool, can tell where Lenny Kravitz gets his sound from :P and the girl moving her head is pretty nice eye candy.

Sorry I can't help with the guitar, never heard of them butthey do look cool!

John Lyons built a batch of fuzzboxes recently based on the fuzz circuit in that guitar. Do they have aluminium necks? Looks like wood to me.

Haet.

1) no aluminum through-body neck
2) no switchable stereo/mono output circuit
3) wrong pickups

As with their Airlines, I won't say it's a bad guitar... just that it's the wrong one.
It's good to hear they're decent, but lets face it: an $850 chinese knock-off better be.

Love original messengers tho.

[edit] I forgot that I actually played one of these last year fuck my memory is getting bad... so i suppose they can't be that good or at least memorable...

I think eastwood totally misses the point everytime they make a fucking guitar. they take a guitar with a crazy history/shape/electronics/whateverthefuck, and then make a dumbed down copy of said awesome guitar, throw in mini hums, and then pat themselves on the back for "RECREATING A LEGEND"

OH SHIT?!
I never really thought of what guitar Mark Farner was using, but thanks for posting this. That performance at midsummer rock is one of my favorite live performances ever, i show it to everyone that is not interested in Grand Funk.

"You kids don't know Grand Funk? The wild, shirtless lyrics of Mark Farner? The bong-rattling bass of Mel Schacher? The competent drumwork of Don Brewer? Oh, man!"

No, but it's an Eastwood, so the finish will be the thickest finish you've ever felt on anything, including public school linoleum floors. And it's ugly. And who cares - it's not like it offers any advantages over another guitar, and others will offer better quality for the same or less money. And no one who doesn't play guitar will care. And people who do play guitar won't care because it's just a copy, and not even a good one.
