I'll vouch for this, it's awesome!! I first used it on my car, then had success with it on guitars. Meguiars beats the shit out of pretty much any other polishing compound that doesn't cost a fortune.

I used 3m hand glaze and then Mcguiar's ultimate detailer and worked well. They have good products and it is a good bang for the buck compared to many guitar specific products out there.
