When I pulled the pickguard, and the control covers (to try to determine why it was so microphonic), I discovered that my first Jag (a '90 olympic white MIJ), had the brass shielding.

i had an mij with brass plates under the pickguard and in the routes. i also had a cij with some weird plasticky-foil-chipbag material attached to the underside of the pickguard and black shielding paint in the routes.
