I want two Mustang style phase switches on my next project. I have a PU selector so I don't want an "off" position on the switch. Would I use a six prong slide switch? Would it be wired? This for use with two single coil pick ups. thanks
Thanks for the diagram. And serfx I'll be looking forward to your progress. I can solder but have next to no ability with wiring. The body is stripped so I have the opportunity.
Oddly enough I'm investigating this exact issue right now. I'm pretty sure modern mustang switches are on/on/on but awaiting total confirmtion. See page 2 of this thread for all the evidence and links to similar discussions on other forums:
I went with Grant's switch wiring. After looking at the local slide switch options I got some Jag switches off Ebay. Give me a diagram and I can follow it, left on my own I just have a bunch of wires. Thanks
I enjoyed the switch discussions. What I'm trying to do is a huge leap for me.

It doesn't matter whether you use ON/OFF/ON or ON/ON/ON in a stock Mustang configuration because the wiring doesn't care, but I believe they're ON/ON/ON switches. Grant's IN/IN/OUT switch works only if you have an ON/ON/ON switch. If you want to remove the kill switching, I would do that for the bridge and then make the other switch into a selector switch NECK/NB/BRIDGE.
