Can I use a folding X keyboard stand for my combo organ?

I have a Yamaha YC-30 Combo Organ that I love.

But it is a pain in the ASS to set up the awesome looking crome legs for it and I haven't been able to find the screws for it for a few months now. The thing weighs like 80lbs. Are there any stands out there sturdy enough to hold a heavy organ? For some reason I haven't been able to find much info on the subject through google.

130 lbs.

Google search for "keyboard stand weight limit" turned up this, and one at walmart with a 250lb limit.

Yeah that looks kind of like the one I have already, which I wouldn't trust using... but I guess those things are stronger than they look?

I just haven't seen anyone using an X stand for a combo organ, but maybe it's more due to most people who still lug around 90lb combo organs instead of lighter more versatile keyboards wanting to just go all out with the original hard to set up stands

Hercules and Ultimate also make some X stands that look pretty sturdy.

Your real problem won't be with sturdiness, but with stability. Even a simple X-stand will hold your keyboard without buckling or bending. But a slight nudge or canine collision will tip it over.

i've seen people using 88 key rhodes pianos on X-stands before (not for a few years, admittedly- the nord electro seems to be ubiquitous now), so they must be stronger than they look (unless it's a $20 cheapo, obv).

Watch out for the cheapies, I got one thinking "hey, how bad can they be" and the stand was like "fuck you, I'll fucking show you how bad I can BE! BAD TO THE FUCKING BONE!" and then that shit straight up collapsed on me.

i use my x keyboard stand for a huge shitty transistor organ that i cut in half. its pretty sturdy. i dont think you would have
a problem supporting a yc 30

I'm in a similar situation myself. Just bought a YC-30 without a stand, now what to put it on? It's on a single milk crate for now, and I squat or kneel while doodling on it. An original stand would sure be nice!

Answering your initial problem with the lost bolts, I found that the four mounting holes underneath take metric M8 screws with 1.25 thread pitch. I got these at a local hardware store. Picture a hex-head bolt about 1" long, or 25mm. I found a plastic 3-sided knob for it (I haven't bought any yet) at:

It looks like the bolt would snap right in to the knob. I'm doing the foot work because I might get the same knob-insert setup if I end up making some sort of custom stand.

Another thing I was looking at was a Yamaha LG100 stand. Darn thing is now obsolete (of course). It looks a lot cooler and sturdier than some of the newer look-alikes I have seen.
