well, i cant compare with other coronados, but my silver pick ups they are not as punchym, sharp etcetera then now my 66 XII. Ok to two different kind of guitars but stillstewart wrote:see, i'm tempted to think this is a myth, as my coronado has hotter pickups than any other vintage fender i've owned (and i've had quite a few now). maybe mine is some kind of circus freak.kapepepper wrote:Coronado Pick Ups are relatively weak
the neck PU is lets say acceptable, the bridge PU naaah.. does not do the job for me
but nevertheless, I love my coronado and would never get rid of it

in any case you are lucky since they do the jobstewart wrote:now i'm wondering if a previous owner has had mine rewound or something. it's the only coronado i've ever played so i've nothing to compare it to.aen wrote:Seems likely. Mine is whisper quiet. Looking good! Are those the CP Jag/Jazz pickups I gave you? Glad to see they're getting some use and hopefully they sound good.serfx wrote:here is a shitty cell phone (instagram) pic of my #1 & #2 guitars at the moment..
it half goes here and half in the shortscale section.. but i'll just post it here
CP HH Jaguar (that i've swapped the neck pickup for a cp jag single coil...)► Show Spoiler
still wired with a kill switch.. neck roller knob does nothing
bridge roller knob is still essentially the humbucker -->single coil blend
Lower control switches
neck - neck pup on/off
mid - bridge pup on/off
bridge - phase reverse switch for neck pickup
BT Jazzmaster
Neck pickup is CP jazzmaster pickup
Bridge pickup is GFS "Vintage Split Humbucker- Classic Fender Style" sounds like a PAF crossed with a WRHB but i'm happy with it (certainly not a WRHB sound that some would expect)

82 Ibanez Destroyer II with coil tap on the bridge. Plays great, though I've never really spent much time on anything else except an old Matsumoku Washburn. A much younger me brutalised its surface quite badly with all kinds of attempts to make it 'cool', I actually think in the end, in these ironic times, I succeeded. Now I want an SG junior or maybe something with single coils, I don't think it's good to just play one guitar, I get deaf to the sounds I'm making and stuck in ruts.
Its been a while since I posted pics of my herd. Its changed quite a bit over the course of the year. Some guitars are not going anywhere. Care to guess which ones?

I didn't realize you had a Vista Jagmaster and a Jaguar. That Jazblaster looks really tasty. Would look cool next to my Jag-blaster.hotrodperlmutter wrote:works in progress (squier bronco/musicmaster, astro's contoured tele, jagblaster w/amazing blacktop jazzmaster neck; not pictured: dave's contoured tele):

yes sir. got the jagmaster and wanted to know just how great that neck would be paired with single coils.
i'll never sell the jagmaster, but have been tempted recently to offload the jaguar to put toward either a martin acoustic (00-15) or the new AC30VR. i've decided i'll just hold off until i sell my amp, and save up some dough, and paint the jaguar pink.

I'm effectively down to one electric and one acoustic, pretty much right where I want to be. Still have the 1969 Fender Maverick(also have a second Maverick body that's been refinned in IBM) and traded my Martin DX-1 and a little cash to my friend for a Mahogany Martin D-15(<3 it). Sorry for the shit cell phone pic. There are good pics of the Maverick kicking about here and there will be proper ones of the D-15 at some point.
The gold sticker behind the bridge is a Hallmark sticker that's been on the guitar since right after my friend bought it a couple of years ago. It hasn't offended me yet, so I haven't removed it.
