Jagmaster tremolo

Post by jamba72 »

Ok, the trem on my Jag is just not fitting, it sticks out about 5 mm on the back. The sustain block is 72 mm wide, 13 mm thick and 42 mm long, string spacing is 56mm, the mounting holes for the plate have a distance of about 23 mm.

a good fit would be a block with 35 mm length but more thickness, brass would be nice. The only one I found is for a Floyd Rose, there are some nice ones, but are completely different from a Squier..

please post the dimensions of your blocks!

The bridge maybe original but the block definitely isn’t. It should never stick out like that.

I doubt Jagmasters ever had big toneblocks in em. Would have been those smaller zinc pot types. Is the JM a smaller body width than a strat?

That's a replacement block, full-sized US type made for import trem, probably a GFS. If it is it will have the GFS logo on the side (need to remove to see). Of course, it's possible someone just replaced the entire trem, which would lead to pivot screw discrepancies.

Cheaper Squiers are thinner. I'm pretty sure Affinity Strats/Teles are quite a bit thinner too. It sucks.

What's going on with that bridge pickup's poles?
