so it's a jagstang with the bridge pickup properly mounted so it doesn't get super bassy. those guitars would have sold way better if they'd set them up this way.
you ever thought about how many of these things japan has to sell to keep making them? and who are their biggest customers? are japanese rock stars playing shrtsacles in greater numbers than the states, or the world? i'm actually curious about this because it seems if there was a market, fender corporate would invest more in it. . .
I hate Fender for not letting us just fucking import Japan stuff. Back when they could export them, the prices were a lot lower because they could sell more of them. Now, demand is still huge, but the supply is cut back, so the prices are higher.
Especially when Fender does not produce the same goddamn products here.

mustang's are smaller and thinner than other fenders and the edge routing is very round. it's fine if they are contoured but it's not like an imperative. they will be very comfortable guitars with or without contouring.
...and yes, fender japan reissued them starting in the 80s. they haven't made them in america since the company was bought from CBS. I think fender japan is making all the mustang models recently because they must be getting squished by fender america entering the japanese market. the only thing they can really beat them at is mustang's because fender america doesn't make them.

+ five billion
Complaining a Mustang doesn't have contours is like complaining there's no weed on the space shuttle.
